Why Qareeb exists
Our people are everywhere. Our networks are nowhere.
There are more than two billion Muslims in the world, building careers, companies, and communities in every city you can name. But our professional lives are scattered across LinkedIn, WhatsApp groups, DMs, and private circles. There’s no single place to actually find each other by faith and by craft.
Qareeb exists to make that world visible to itself – to turn scattered goodwill into a real network where Muslims can show up as who they are, find each other, and build together in one trusted place.
The problem we see every day
Our careers and communities run through dozens of disconnected channels: LinkedIn for work, WhatsApp for intros, Eventbrite for gatherings, random spreadsheets and group chats for everything in between.
If you try to find Muslims by city or industry, you end up guessing names, following hashtags, or asking friends if they ‘know anyone’. Most of the time, the people and orgs you’re looking for stay invisible.
For orgs, it’s not much better. Masajid, MSAs, nonprofits, and circles publish events into noisy feeds and hope the right people see them in time.
What Qareeb is — and what it isn’t
What Qareeb is
- A values‑aligned network where Muslims can actually find each other.
- A graph of people, orgs, and events — anchored in our deen and our craft.
- A place to be visible to the communities and opportunities that fit you.
What Qareeb is not
- Not another noisy social feed.
- Not a job board pretending to be a community.
- Not a directory that goes stale the moment it launches.
Why we’re starting with people and orgs, not features
It’s tempting to launch with big promises: AI matching, instant jobs, complex recommendation engines. But without a real network underneath, those features are theater.
We’d rather start with what matters most — Muslims being able to find each other and the communities that serve them — and then build the tools that graph can power.
- People first: profiles that reflect both craft and compass.
- Communities next: orgs and events that keep us rooted.
- Features later: hiring, verified businesses, intros built on top.
What success looks like for Qareeb
Success for Qareeb isn’t just signups or page views. It’s being able to say: if you’re a Muslim anywhere in the world, you can open one place and see people, orgs, and opportunities that share your compass.
- Finding a Muslim mentor in your field is normal, not miraculous.
- Org events reach the people who would most benefit from them.
- Values‑aligned companies and founders can find the talent and partners they need without compromising.
Why we need you early
A network like Qareeb only works if it’s built with the people it serves. Early members don’t just ‘use’ Qareeb – they shape what it becomes.
- Your profile helps define the graph others will search through.
- Your feedback steers which features we build first.
- Your presence makes it easier for the next Muslim to find their people.
If you’ve ever said, “We should have something like this for Muslims,” Qareeb is our attempt to build it together.
